The international standard was developed by 450+ experts from 99 countries and 50+ international organisations during 5 years. ln 2010, after close to 25 000 written comments from the experts had been resolved, the standard was published in consensus, 93 % in favor. The standard offers more than 400 recommendations to any company or organization that wants to improve its contribution to sustainable environmental, social, and economic development.
